The Challenge
CityLife had a loyal but stagnant user base in their tier-2 city. Traditional advertising was delivering diminishing returns at high cost. Merchant acquisition had plateaued at 340 partners. They needed a growth strategy that leveraged their existing community rather than fighting for paid traffic.
Our Solution
CityLife implemented Mall Professional with the distribution module as the centerpiece. They designed a 3-tier system: Tier 1 β local community influencers (KOLs) as brand ambassadors earning 8% commission. Tier 2 β their followers as distributors earning 5%. Tier 3 β casual sharers earning 2% per sale. Weekly community group buy campaigns and bi-weekly Tuesday/Friday flash sales created consistent platform traffic and urgency.
Key Results
In 12 months: distribution network grew to 42,000 active distributors. Monthly orders reached 520,000. Merchant count grew from 340 to 1,850 as rising GMV attracted new merchants organically. YoY GMV growth of 340%. Distribution-channel revenue: 67% of total platform GMV. Customer acquisition cost dropped 78% compared to paid advertising.
